White or gray rhombic or isometric crystalline powder. It turns yellow when heated and white or gray when cooled. Density 5.2g/cm3, melting point 656℃, boiling point 1550℃ (sublimation), stable rhombic system below 557℃, stable isometric system above 557℃. Soluble in hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, sodium sulfide, tartaric acid, acetic acid, concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated nitric acid, insoluble in water, alcohol, dilute sulfuric acid. It’s amphoteric oxide. At low temperature by solid carbon or carbon monoxide, hydrogen and other gases reduced to metal antimony.

Product usage:
Because it’s a heavy gas, Sb2O3 can extinguish flames. At present, it is mainly used for fireproof coating.
As a flame retardant, it can be widely used for flame retardant of polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, nylon, engineering plastics (ABS), rubber, paint, coating, synthetic resin, paper and other materials.
Used as defoaming agent to melt glass to remove bubbles and as catalyst in polyester fiber. Used as masking agent and whitening agent in enamel and ceramic products.
Used as passivation agent in the process of heavy oil, residue oil, catalytic cracking and catalytic reforming.
