Property description: off-white or brown-yellow powder. Insoluble in ethanol, soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, ammonia water and potassium iodide, sodium thiosulfate, sodium cyanide solution. It decomposes easily under the action of light.
Cuprous iodide is almost insoluble in water (0.00042 g/L, 25°C) and insoluble in acids, but can continue to coordinate with iodide to form linear [CuI2] ions that are soluble in potassium iodide or sodium iodide solutions. The obtained solution was diluted and precipitated by cuprous iodide, so it can be used to purify cuprous iodide samples.
Properties: white crystal or off-white powder, easy to decompose into yellowish brown. Insoluble in water and ethanol. Soluble in 75% sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, also soluble in ammonia water, potassium iodide. React with sodium hydroxide to form cuprous oxide.
