Is composed of nitrogen and magnesium inorganic compounds, cubic crystal system. A yellowish green powder at room temperature in pure magnesium nitride, but magnesium nitride with some magnesium oxide impurities is grayish white

Main purpose
1. Act as catalyst for the preparation of nitride of other elements with high hardness, high thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, wear resistance and high temperature resistance. Magnesium nitride was the catalyst for the first successful synthesis of cubic boron nitride.
2. Additive used in high strength steel smelting. Magnesium nitride (Mg3N2) replaces desulphurized magnesium in building steel smelting, which can improve the density, strength, tension and bearing capacity of steel. In addition, the use of magnesium nitride (Mg3N2) desulfurization, can reduce the amount of other additives, thus helping to reduce the production cost of construction steel;
3. Prepare special ceramic materials;
4. Foaming agent for making special alloys;
5. Used for making special glass;
6. Catalytic polymer crosslinking;
7. Recycling of nuclear waste;
