Solubility insoluble in water and alcohol, soluble in hydrochloric acid, ammonium chloride, ammonia water, slightly soluble in nitric acid. Dissolve in hydrochloric acid to produce white cuprous chloride crystal powder. Soluble in concentrated alkali, ferric chloride and other solutions.
Product usage:
Cuprous oxide used for ship bottom antifouling paint;
Colorants for ceramics and enamel, red glass dyes;
It is also used to manufacture various copper salts and analytical reagents.
Used for rectifier electroplating, material for rectifier, copper plating and preparation of copper plating alloy solution in electrical industry.
Cuprous oxide is also commonly used as a catalyst for organic synthesis.
