Application
Lanthanum hydroxide (La(OH)3) is a white solid, belonging to the hexagonal crystal system. It is insoluble in water and easy to absorb CO2 from the air. It has excellent optical, electric and magnetic properties, and has been widely used as catalyst, adsorbent and fluorescent agent. At the same time, it is widely used in glass, ceramics, electronics industry and other fields. Nano-structured lanthanum hydroxide has a large specific surface area and unique electronic structure, which can form lanthanum complexes with other elements, and thus react with the reactants more perfectly, greatly improving its catalytic activity. Lanthanum hydroxide can also be used as a raw material for the production of lanthanum oxide, because it is easy to shed water and decompose when heated and dried. Lanthanum hydroxide has good properties in improving the thermal stability and electrical insulation of PVC materials. La(OH)3 is an important intermediate product of lanthanum products, and La2O3 can be obtained by calcination. Besides the generation of lanthanum oxide, only water is the by-product in the whole process of heating and decomposition. Therefore, lanthanum hydroxide can be used as a high-quality raw material for lanthanum oxide production.
