Physicochemical properties

Potassium fluoroantimonate is a colorless orthorhombic crystal, usually white needle crystal. Slightly soluble in cold water, hydrofluoric acid, soluble in hot water. It does not decompose when it is hot, and it is stable under normal temperature and pressure. In case of fire, use water, sand and fire extinguishers to save. Its powder has a stimulating effect on the respiratory mucosa, and long-term exposure to dust is prone to pneumoconiosis.

The synthetic methods

Acid leaching method: after tantalum niobium ore crushing, slowly add containing hot thick hydrofluoric acid is mixed with sulfuric acid pickling tank, the decomposition of the breeze, the solution obtained after decantation or filtration, adjust the acidity of liquid liquid extraction separation, extraction phase with methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK), depending on the acidity of separating the fluoride niobium, tantalum, tantalum of fluoride reaction with potassium hydroxide potassium fluoride tantalum acid system, then through cooling crystallization, centrifugal separation, obtained potassium fluoride tantalum acid products. The reaction equation is:

Hf + TaV5 + 2 and koh K2TaF7 + 2 h2o [3]
